One man is now repenting for his ‘sin and crime’ committed after being sentenced to 14 months in jail for stealing two ice coolers from the Uitvlugt Pasture Masjid, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Daniram Lakeram appeared at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court, WCD, yesterday (Thursday) before Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool to answer to the above-mentioned charge where he pleaded ‘not guilty’.
However, INews understands that footage from security cameras in the vicinity of the Masjid clearly identified the man as the culprit.
As such, the Magistrate sentenced him to 14 months in prison.
