An East Ruimveldt man was remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan charged with possession of a firearm without being the holder of a license.
Twenty – eight – year old Jamie Mayer pleaded not guilty to the charge which read that on July 09 at Mandela Avenue in Georgetown he had a .32 semi-automatic pistol on his possession.
The court heard that on the day in question the man was seen acting in a suspicious manner when he was stopped and searched. According to the Police Prosecutor, the rifle was found in the man’s pants pocket. Jamie Mayer will reappear in court on July 15. [Royan Abrams]
