A post mortem performed on the body of Om Singh who was found dead in police lockups at Anna Regina proved that he died as a result of a cardiac arrest.
The autopsy was performed by Dr Nehaul Singh at the Suddie Hospital Mortuary after which the body was handed over to family for burial.
Singh was arrested on Sunday last by ranks of the Anti-Crime Patrol Unit who responded to a domestic dispute whereby the now dead man and his wife were involved in a heated argument at their Danielstown, Essequibo Coast home.
He was taken to the Anna Regina Police Station for questioning where he collapsed and died almost immediately while in the lockups. He was rushed to Public Hospital Suddie where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Singh left to mourn his wife and five children. He is expected to be laid to rest today.
