[www.inewsguyana.com] – An Angoys Avenue man died early Friday morning (April 04) after he sustained severe burns to various parts of his body late last night at Levi Dam, Angoys Avenue in New Amsterdam, Berbice.
Thirty – Six – year old Tony Sinclair died at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after he was rushed there by public spirited citizens.
At about 8:30 hours Thursday evening (April 03), Sinclair was at home alone when neighbours saw him running out of the building, screaming for help. Residents said he sustained burns to his private parts.
Sinclair’s Brother – in – law told iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) that he was at work when he received the news about the fire and immediately rushed to the scene. Upon his arrival, he saw two fire trucks battling the fire which allegedly started from the bedroom.
The two story wooden building had no electricity. Sinclair lived in the area for over 20 years with a friend who was not at home at the time of the fire.
His body is currently at the Phillip Arokium Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination.
