[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man has been detained for questioning in relation to the execution style killing of Guyana Geology and Mines (GGMC) employee, Trevor Abrams.
The man was taken into custody on Sunday, March 01, just hours after the suspected getaway car was impounded by the police.
Sources close to the investigation told iNews that immediately after the shooting of Abrams at Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara the killer/killers drove into a nearby village not far from the scene of the execution and covered the vehicle with a “car covering” before escaping.
iNews understands that the police found the car in the same state and upon reviewing video footage of the crime, the registration numbers matched that of the car found.
Abrams had just left his Samatta Point, Grove East Bank Demerara home on Friday, February 27 and was driving along the Little Diamond Public Road when another vehicle drove up alongside him, reportedly cut off his path and opened fire on him.
The man was riddled with bullets which caused him to lose control of the vehicle he was driving, uprooted a light pole and ended up in a nearby canal. Abrams was pronounced dead at the Diamond Hospital.
