The suspect in the fatal shooting of former slingerz Disk Jockey (DJ) Sheldon Cheddie, popularly known as DJ Cheddie, has been charged with murder and remanded to prison.
The man appeared before Chief Magistrate (Ag) Priya Sewnarine-Beharry today (September 12) in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
The suspect was apprehended by friends of the late DJ and public spirited citizens, who gave chase after the man immediately subsequent to committing the crime.
He was beaten and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital and was discharged hours later, after treating lacerations hospital officials confirmed he bore to his head, abdomen and hands.
The now dead 36- Year – old was reportedly shot approximately seven times by two men on bicycles around 20:30hrs at Turning Point, Tucville on Tuesday (September 9).
Cheddie was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
