A man was today charged with illegal entry when appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry. Sean Small, who claimed to be living at Durban Street Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the offence which read that on July 21 at Springlands Corentyne Berbice; he entered Guyana by sea and failed to present himself to an immigration officer.
Police prosecutor Bharrat Mangru objected to bail, noting that the accused is a flight risk and that he may not return to court for trial. The Chief Magistrate refused bail and Small will make his next court appearance at the Springlands Magistrates Court. [Royan Abrams]
