A man was placed before Magistrate Judy Latchman today for assault causing actual bodily harm charge. Thirty – seven – year old Ryan Shepherd of Palm Street Werk-en-Rust Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge.
It is alleged that on September 10 at his home, he assaulted Hollis Gillis. Police prosecutor Vishnu Hunt related to the court that the accused and complainant were in a relationship and that on the day in question they had an argument about a phone call the complainant received and as a result, the accused dealt the complainant several cuffs to her face. The prosecutor however, did not object to bail which was granted in the sum of $80,000 and Shepherd will reappear in court on September 23. [Royan Abrams]
