[www.inewsguyana.com] – Forty – year – old Imran Rahaman was remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan on a break and enter and larceny charge.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that between November 24 and 25 at James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, he broke and entered the storeroom of Ahmad Rahaman and stole therein one tool kit, three vehicle shacks, one socket kit , two racing car tyres, one scale and fourteen saw blades; a total value of $517,000.
Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones opposed bail on the grounds that the defendant gave the court conflicting addresses.
According to Jones, the accused is the nephew of the accused and that the items were not recovered. Bail was denied and the matter was transferred to Magistrate Judy Latchman for December 04.
