[www.inewsguyana.com] – Orin Jerrick, of Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara was today charged with the murder of minibus driver, Gavin Filee and remanded to prison.
Jerrick appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and was not required to plea to the indictable offence, which alleged that he stabbed Filee to death on July 31 at Georgetown.
The Court heard that at approximately 17:45 hrs on that day, Filee was at his minibus at the Plaisance bus park, when he saw the accused urinating on his bus.
Subsequently, he confronted him and an argument ensued when the accused allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him on the right side if his chest.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
The accused was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Pamela De Santos, who told the court that her client was severely wounded in the incident and has witnesses to testify.
De Santos said there is a medical report to show that Jerrick was stabbed to the head, neck and over the eye. The case will call again on August 22.
