Dellon Henry of Durban Street Georgetown made his first court appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry to answer the charge of assault; which he committed against his mother.
It is alleged that on July 10 at Durban Street, Georgetown the accused unlawfully assault Pamela Griffith, causing her actual bodily harm. According to Police Prosecutor Vernette Pindar; on the day in question Henry and his mother had a misunderstanding about money when he became annoyed and dealt the woman several cuffs to her mouth.
The matter was reported to the Ruimveldt Police Station and the accused was arrested. Based on the information presented in Court, the Chief Magistrate placed the accused on self bail and he is to return to court on July 17. [Royan Abrams]
