Staff and persons conducting business at the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) Headquarters, Camp Street, Georgetown were evacuated out of the building following a small fire earlier today.
Based on reports received, staff members saw smoke emanating from a room on the third floor and an alarm was raised. When <<<Inews>>> arrived at the scene, staff members confirmed that it was a fire and not a bomb threat that was initially stated.
One staff member explained that within minutes, the fire tenders arrived on the scene and were able to put out the fire.
The fire according to sources cause minor damage. An investigation is ongoing.
