[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty seven – year – old Lennox Detterin of 111 Mile, Mahdia, Potaro, accused of threatening and dislodging a loaded firearm towards a Police Officer, was on Monday placed before Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer to the offence.
It is alleged that Detterin on October 08, 2015 at 111 Miles, Mahdia discharged a loaded firearm at Sunil Grocery Shop at a Police Constable within 100 yards in a public place.
It is also alleged that the accused on that same day, at the same location made use of threatening language toward the said Police Constable.
Lennox Detterin pleaded not guilty to both offences.
According to the Attorney for the accused, on the day in question his client was at a local disco in the 111 Miles location, as he was leaving another person who was in his company threw some squibs about the road.
The Police was called to the scene, with Detterin being implicated and arrested.
The Prosecution had no objection to bail.
Lennox Detterin was eventually granted bail in the sum of $25,000.
He will make his next court appearance on October 20 at the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court
