Shock waves rippled through the close-knit village of Mahaica, East Coast Demerara this morning when news spread like wildfire that a husband brutally hacked his wife to death at her workplace before turning himself in at the police station.
Reports are that the young woman, Candacy Pitt, was a security guard at the Bygeval Secondary School at Mahaica, and was on duty when her husband showed up to carry out the heinous act. The couple had been married for over 13 years.
INews was told that the other security guard on duty, identified as Brenda Thomas, was also injured during the incident and is presently admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where she is said to be in a critical condition.
Pitt’s husband was reported to have turned himself into the Mahaica Police Station just after killing his wife.
INews will provide more details as they become available.
Too much murders and crimes in Guyana. I honestly think that ALL the churches and ministers of the gospel should get on their knees and truly call out to God in humbly humility and seek God for a change in this nation. It’s time for this country to return back to God, instead of imitating the lifestyles of ungodly America. Guyana needs a true revival from sin to godliness. Where are the true men and women of God in times like these…?
HANG this coward,
