[www.inewsguyana.com] – A mother of two, who endured a five year abusive relationship, was found dead in her 180 Grass Field Lusignan Home, East Coast Demerara around noon around noon on Wednesday, October 23.
Dead is 45- year – old Mitranie Parmanand.
According to the woman’s niece Sabrina Taxi, who discovered the body the woman was found lying on her back clad only in her underwear. According to relatives, she had no marks of violence about the body. However, her stomach was swollen beyond normal.
Taxi told iNews that on Sunday, October 20 her aunt visited their home located mere streets away from where she lived and spent the day. She told reporters that when she visited her aunt the following day, the woman told her that she was beaten by her reputed husband, who was identified as ‘Reaz.’
“When I ask him why he beat she, he seh that she went and pick fare.”
She further related that on Tuesday October 22 when she returned to visit her aunt, she was informed that her aunt was beaten in her stomach and asked to be taken to the hospital.
The youngster told iNews that she did not heed the woman’s request since it did not appear to be serious. Taxi said last night again she witnessed the man beating the woman.
“But meh lapse, I should’ve really called the police” she said, adding that “my mother called out to him and ask him why he hitting her, and then we left and go home.”
The woman was beaten and thrown out of their home last December by her abuser and suffered several broken limbs. The matter was reported to the police and he was fined $80,000 which he never paid and was wanted for.
Relatives said that the matter was dismissed after the now dead woman and the man- Reaz- rekindled their relationship. Reaz is believed to have gone into hiding. An investigation has been launched.
