[www.inewsguyana.com] – Government is unaware of any involvement or link between any of its serving Ministers and that of embattled Guyanese pilot Khemraj Lall who was arrested in Puerto Rico trying to smuggle US$620,000 into Guyana on his jet on November 22.
During his post cabinet media briefing, Government’s spokesman Dr. Roger Luncheon made it pellucid that, “neither am I nor cabinet nor the government for that matter are aware that a minister of the government of Guyana is associated with Mr. Lall.”
Last Saturday iNews reported that a senior female government official is embroiled in the case against the Guyanese pilot; Luncheon is however unaware that a current government official is involved in this and instead directed Journalists who posed the question to other sources that may be of better help to them.
“I think there are other sources that you probably can quote that might elicit a much more understandable response from a representative of this government such as the American authorities such as the local law enforcement who may be involved in the investigations to repose the question and assumingly its accuracy in what is on the social media.”
“I can assure you that we have absolutely no information whatsoever of any source official that a government minister or specifically Minister Webster is in anyway associated with or engaged with Pilot Lall in those offences in which he has been accused,” the Cabinet Secretary told reporters.
He also made it clear that former Human Services & Social Security Minister, Jennifer Webster was not forced to resign from her post and reiterated that she only cited illness as the reason for her resignation.
He is also unaware of any ongoing investigation being conducted by an international organization or country against any cabinet official.
