[www.inewsguyana.com] -Raymond Reifer’s half century and support from the lower order steered Guyana Jaguars to a thrilling two wicket win when the WICB NAGICO Super50 tournament continued on Saturday at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad.
Chasing 169 from 36 overs in the rain-hit game Guyana had had a batting collapse and quickly fell to 77-7 before a composed Reifer along with Veerasammy Permaul and Devendra Bishoo pushed Guyana across the finish line with four balls to spare.
Reifer, hit a well composed 84 runs while had 11 and Bishoo a solid 26 runs to held Guyana with the victory.
Earlier, Kraigg Brathwaite led Barbados with a knock of 73 runs to carry them to their total of 168-4 after 14 overs were chopped off due to the rain.
Esuan Crandon, Christopher Barnwell and Bishoo had a wicket each in Guyana’s bowling attack.
Guyana will go up against the Combined Campuses and Colleges on Monday, starting at 13:30hrs at the Queen’s Park Oval.
