A lone gunman Monday afternoon stormed the Pradeep’s Furniture Store at Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
However, he eventually escaped empty-handed after realising that the business place had no cash.
Reports are at about 12:20h on Monday, the gunman entered the furniture store, which had just opened and approached the sales clerk, demanding cash.
The man whipped out a handgun from the waist of his pants and brandished the firearm while demanding that the clerk hand over the cash that was in the register.
The terrified female related to the gunman that there was no money inside of the drawer since no sales transactions had been done for the day.
The gunman then quickly exited the building and jumped onto a motorcycle and rode away.
Region Four Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, who is also the Commanding Officer for the Industry to West of Mahaica Bridge area, Royston Andries-Junor told INews on Monday that Police are on the hunt for the armed man.
