The first public hearing for the Lindo Creek Commission of Inquiry (CoI) has been postponed.
Commissioner Justice Donald Trotman appeared before the media one hour after the scheduled starting time to inform journalists of the postponement.
The commissioner claimed there were certain “internal prerequisites” and logistical issues that led to the postponement.
Relatives of the the eight men that were killed in the massacre were due to appear at the hearing this morning. However, some were said to be having difficulties reaching on time.
The date when the CoI will next commence has not yet been announced, but this publication was informed that it is likely to be held next Monday.
The CoI is being held at the Ministry of the Presidency’s Department of Public Service on Waterloo Street, Georgetown.
