Days after reportedly murdering his 37-year-old wife in their Linden home, a 35-year-old man was arraigned at the Wales Magistrate Court on Monday morning.
Michael London of lot 1206 Central Amelia’s Ward, McKenzie, Linden was not allowed to plead to the indictable charge which stated that on Friday, May 19 2017, at the home he shared with his wife, Shenika London, he murdered her.
He was remanded to prison and his matter was transferred to the Linden Magistrates’ Court where he is expected to reappear on June 27, 2017.
Inews had previously reported that on Friday last, at approximately 10:30hrs, the accused fatally stabbed his wife after he accused her of infidelity.
Police had indicated that at the time of her murder, Shenika London rushed out of their home and into the neighbour’s yard, drenched in blood and calling for assistance. However, she collapsed just before she could reach the door.
The woman, who was identified as a clothes vendor, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital.
Her attacker fled the scene and left the blood stained knife used to carry out the gruesome act at the crime scene.
However, he was apprehended on Friday evening at Moblissa, Linden/Soesdyke Highway but reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to his leg after he gave resistance.
The post mortem results on Shenika London’s body reported that she died from multiple incised wounds as a result of being stabbed 15 times.
There are reports circulating that the couple’s youngest child- a two year old- witnessed the entire ordeal.
The now dead woman has also been identified as the sister of popular disc jockey Alelo Elliot.(Ramona Luthi)
