Magistrate Clive Nurse on Wednesday fined a Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) man who appeared before him for the offence of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Dane Isaacs, of Lot 269 Half Mile, Wismar, Linden, was fined $7500 for the offence when he appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge.
The Court heard that on Sunday, May 29, he drove motor car PPP 7204 along the Kara Kara Public Road, Mackenzie, Linden, while his breath alcohol level exceeded the prescribed limit, that is 82 micrograms. Failure to pay the fine will result in a default sentence of a week’s imprisonment.
