Twenty-four-year-old Temecia Sampson of Phase 1B, Wisroc Squatting Area, who reportedly fed her eight-year-old daughter and six-month-old son a poisonous substance before ingesting same, has died.
This was confirmed by Regional Commander Hugh Winter, who said the woman died on Saturday evening at the Linden Hospital Complex while receiving medical attention.
Both her children remain hospitalised, however, her six-month-old son was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) since his condition continues to deteriorate.
On Thursday last, Sampson and her children were rushed to the hospital after consuming the poisonous substance.
The three were immediately admitted with the mother’s condition being listed as critical. It was reported that the woman showed no sign of improvement and never regained consciousness.
