[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty-six-year-old Afiba Yankana of Lot 3 Hadfield Street, Worthmanville, Georgetown who was accused of simple larceny back in August of this year, today found himself a free man, after Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan announced that the court found him not guilty of the offence.
It is alleged that the accused Afiba Yankana, a Mason on August 18, 2015 at Worthmanville, Georgetown stole one Samsung Galaxy S5 Smartphone value $130,000, property of Branden McDonald.
Yankana who had initially pleaded not guilty the offence, was placed on $75,000 bail back on August 20.
However, today at the end of a lengthy trial, Chief Magistrate McLennan in her final ruling stated that the Prosecution failed to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
