Desmond Gordon, a 52-year-old vendor of Laing Avenue is now counting his losses after he was on Friday night robbed by two masked men that were armed with guns.
This publication understands that the vendor was walking in a northern direction on a wooden bridge, which joins the West Ruimveldt front road and Laing Avenue, when he was confronted by the suspects from behind.
Both men reportedly held Gordon at gunpoint and robbed him of three gold chains and two gold rings worth approximately $280,000.
They then made good their escape in a southern direction where they reportedly joined a waiting, silver Toyota Spacio, motorcar without number plates, that sped away in a western direction.
The Police were contacted and are currently investigating the crime.
