[www.inewsguyana.com] – Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry placed a 23-year-old labourer on $150,000 bail for the offence of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Kelvan Hodge of Calcutta Mahaicony pleaded not guilty to the allegation, which stated that on June 21 at Uewang Backdam, Pataro-Siparuni, with intent maim, disfigure or cause harm, he chopped Wendell Crawford o his left arm.
According to the Prosecution, on the day in question, the Virtual complainant (VC) and the defendant had a misunderstanding over Hodge disturbing Crawford from his sleep. Subsequently, he became annoyed and dealt the victim a chop to the wrist of his left arm.
Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru did not object to bail and the case was transferred to Mahdia Court for July 14.
