[www.inewsguyana.com] – President of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF), Nigel Hinds whisked his way to Linden on Monday in order to hand deliver a hard copy of the fines of suspension of a number of players that included Lindeners Shane Webster and Dwayne Roberts.
The Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) was adamant that they would have allowed the players play in the Victory Valley Royals Knockout tournament because they had not been informed officially.
Secretary of LABA, Joseph Chapman who noted that he did receive an electronic mail of the fines and suspensions, highlighted that due to it not being addressed to LABA it was viewed as a media released.
However, with Hinds now venturing to the mining town to deliver a hard copy of the suspensions himself, LABA has now acknowledged the fines and suspensions of both players.
Webster and Roberts were fined and suspended for off court misconduct during the 2014 Caribbean Basketball Championships (CBC) in July which was held in the British Virgin Islands.
