A woman who was reportedly caught with 341.8 grams of cannabis was on Monday remanded to prison when she appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman.
Michelle Moonwick, of Lot 226 Garnett Street, Kitty, Georgetown, denied the charge when it was read to her at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The charge stated that on May 31, the 42-year-old woman was found with the illicit substance at her residence.
Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves objected to bail. The Prosecutor told the court that on May 31 about 16:00h, Police Officers were conducting a raid exercise when they swooped down on the accused’s house.
A search was reportedly conducted in one of her bedrooms and the narcotics were found. Gonsalves disclosed that the defendant in caution statements, both written and oral, accepted ownership of the cannabis. The case will continue on June 26.
