[www.inewsguyana.com] – Joseph Ramsay of Railway Line Kitty, Georgetown was on Tuesday (March 4) refused bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer to a charge of drug trafficking.
Ramsay pleaded not guilty to the offense which alleged that on March 3 at Railway Line, Kitty he had in his possession 19 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Attorney-at-Law Adrian Thompson who represented the defendant requested that his client be admitted to a pretrial freedom.
However, the bail application was refused for no special reason by the defence and the matter was transferred to Magistrate Ann McLennan for report and fixtures on March 19.
