A house at Shell Road, Kitty, Georgetown, went up in flames early this morning when a fire of unknown origin broke out destroying $M in valuables. The tragic fire has resulted in some persons now being homeless.
While details surrounding the origin of the fire remain sketchy, some are of the view that it was deliberately set by an occupant of the upper flat of the building since she was said to have made repeated threats of “burning the house down.”
INews understands that fire service officers who were called to the scene responded promptly, but were unable to contain the blaze. An investigation has since been launched into the incident.
