[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 24-year-old unemployed man of Lot 89 Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara, was ordered to post $10,000 bail for assaulting and damaging the clothes of his 17-year-old girlfriend.
Dason Joseph denied the allegation which stated that on Monday, November 11 at Railway Line, Kitty Georgetown he unlawfully and maliciously damaged a quantity of clothing valued $30,000, belonging to Leslie Goring.
He also pleaded not guilty to the second charge which alleged that on the same day, he unlawfully assaulted the woman.
Meanwhile, Goring who was also charged pleaded not guilty to the offence which noted that on the same day at Railway Line, Kitty Georgetown, she unlawfully assaulted Joseph.
Police prosecutor, Dinero Jones told the court that both parties shared a relationship. He said that on the day in question they were at their home at Lot 29 Railway Line, Kitty Georgetown, making jokes with each other.
The Court heard that when the VC’s cellular phone rang, Joseph snatched it and accused her of having another man call her.
The police prosecutor added that the latter then head butt the woman and pushed her down the stairs.
Bail was granted and the two will make another Court appearance on November 26.
