ST CATHERINE, Jamaica Observer— The police are reporting that a 16-year-old boy in Portmore, St Catherine died yesterday after accidentally shooting himself.
He is identified as Daniel Ray.
According to reports, Ray was allegedly playing with a firearm when it went off, hitting him in the head.
The incident happened about 3:40 pm.
Lawmen were summoned and Ray was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police did not provide further information, but reports reaching Observer online are that the weapon belonged to the teens uncle.
