The Ministry of Agriculture’s Hydrometeorological Service has issued a high wind alert, which remains in effect until February 18, 2021.
The Civil Defence Commission has advised the public to exercise caution during this period.
“Secure outdoor objects which could be whisked away by the wind and result in injury to humans, animals, or damages to properties. Further, caution should be taken when driving or climbing trees, utility poles, or structures for maintenance or during construction at this time,” a statement from the Department of Public Information explained.
Fishermen and other marine users are also asked to exercise caution as moderate to rough seas are expected and could be hazardous.
