[www.inewsguyana.com] – The French Consulate in Guyana has announced the death of Mr. Pierre Saint Arroman, who is the Knight of the Honor Legion and Honorary Consul General for France to Guyana.
“Mr. Saint Arroman has passed after an illness in Paris. He was 69 years old,” a press release from the French Consulate noted. He was born on June 16, 1946 in Dordogne, France and moved to Guyana in 1983 where he founded Amazon Caribbean Guyana Ltd. (AMCAR), ErminaGuyana Inc. and International Standard Systems Inc, the release noted.
iNews understands that he served as the Honorary Consul for France to Guyana from August 12, 1991 to August 22, 2015.
“Inspiring creativity and dedication in others was his life-long goal. Mr. Saint-Arroman is survived by his wife, Yola and son, Eric. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Saint-Arroman’s’ life. Condolences will be received at the French Consulate from Tuesday, 25th August to Friday, 4th September, 2015 from 8am to 12 pm and 1pm to 4pm.”

I met Pierre before he started AMCAR and I can truly say he was very devoted and committed in making AMCAR a successful company. along with xavier , Dennis and George. Pierre love Guyana very much it was his home. He was a great person very caring , compassionate and kind. Earth has lost a great human being. I have learned a lot from Pierre he was great mentor always treat everyone with respect. Very sad will miss you and will always cherish your memories . Rest in peace in heaven my friend.

my life was shaped by mr pierre, he has been my friend, my teacher, and my boss,i am one of the poneers of the starting p of AMACAR, the manucole cabbage company in RED HILL, BARIMA RIVER, NORTH WEST,REGION ONE
i remeber when i first saw him walking on kumaka road , to go to the stelling, a boat was coming out for him, i was in a shop, and my friend dennis, probed me to ask him for a job, i just come out from mining gold, i reached him on the stelling and i had the shorest interview, in my life, 3 questions from mr pierre, what can i do i told him , i am a clerk, i know bookkeeping, where do i live, up the aruka river,
he said jump in the boat, we go for your things, iwas amazed, we collected my belongings, and we went up to red hill, amacar, I STAYED FOR TWO YEARS
he taught me storekeeping, and i further it in studies, i can run any warehouse system, he taught me fuel management, i learned to opeate outboard engins, because of him, i never saw him angry, he was always a cool person, we had many conversations, i know he loved guyana, so much,when he became honery consul of france to guyana, I WAS SO HAPPY FOR HIM, I KNEW IN MY HEART, FROM OUR PAST CONVERSATIONS, HE LOVED GUYANA,, he use to say to me , when i was taking him out with the speed boad, hahahaa, it’s not not the speed that kill you rasheed, it’s the sudden stop, hHAHAHA,

Never knew that France had a resident Honorary Consul in Guyana. He was probably the longest serving foreign representative in Guyana.
