[www.inewsguyana.com] – Liaison for the Ministry of Home Affairs in Berbice, Narine Chattergoon was placed before Magistrate Sherdel Marcus Isaccs in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court charged with indecent exposure.
Chattergoon pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on March 3 he allegedly exposed his genitals to a female at the office of the Regional Democratic Council.
According to the virtual complainant, she was at Chattergoon’s office, when he ade several telephone calls pretending as though he was helping her. Sometime after chattergoon got up from where he was sitting and went outside of his office and returned shortly.
The woman said Chattergoon then placed his arm around her from behind and was allegedly trying to seduce her physically which she tried her utmost to avoid. Soon after, Chattergoon returned to his seat when he exposed his private parts in her presence.
The matter was reported to the Police on May 4, after which an investigation was launched. It is of the view of the investigating rank that Narine Chattergoon by virtue of his position used his office, so ask to solicit sexual favour with the woman, who was allegedly seeking employment.
He was released on $75,000 bail and will return to court on July 18.
