[www.inewsguyana.com] – Cognizant of the many activities planned for this weekend and the many financial transactions expected in various parts of the country, the Guyana Police Force has beefed up its security countrywide and has implemented strategies similar to those adopted during the Christmas season.
iNews was reliably informed that increased police presence will be visible in both uniform and civilian clothing at locations where cash flows are usually high, including banks, supermarkets, money transfer outlets and other economic hotspots.
Already the police in ‘A’ and ‘C’ Division have intensified its stop and search activities and roadblocks. In recent times, there have been several robberies and murders committed on businesses and individuals by armed duos on motorcycles and bicycles.
The police are calling on members of the public to report suspicious activities, persons, motorcars, cycles and unusual activities to the various emergency numbers in their police division.
In the police “A” Division persons are asked to call 227-1149, 227-1611, 227- 1270, 225- 6940, 225 6941, 225-6942 or mobile number 658 8874.
In the Police “B” Division persons are asked to call 333-2151, 333 2152, 333-2153, 333-2154, 333-3502 or mobile number 603-8450.
In the police “C” Division persons are asked to call 229-2702, 229-2703, 229-2019, 229-2750
In the police “D” Division persons are asked to call 268-2329, 268-2223, 268-2399, 675-2151
In the Police “E” Division persons are asked to call 444-3512, 444-3297-444 6809
In the police “F” Division persons are asked to call 455-3299, 455-2241, 777-4007, 777-5007, 772-2087
In the police “G” Division persons are asked to call 771-5004, 771-5393 or mobile number 641-5609
In addition to the listed numbers persons are still encouraged to dial the police 911 emergency number.
What busy weekend? This is the PPP going into political overdrive doing test runs to determine how effective the police would be when the party needs it to carry out political biddings. Just a handful of desperadoes at the political controls, folks!
