After being arraigned on a indictable fraud charge, while he was General Manager of the Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC), the now General Manager of the Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB), Nizam Hassan, is scheduled to have a discussion with the GRDB Board later this week to be informed of his fate within the entity.
However, Hassan was reportedly present at work on Tuesday, after being granted $250,000 bail on Monday for being connected to an alleged fraud in the construction of the New Guyana Marketing Corporation (NGMC) building in Georgetown.
Hassan and a female co-accused, Felicia De’Souza-Madramootoo, 34, were charged along with the woman’s husband Hanniel Madramootoo, a project engineer within the Agriculture Ministry, his brother Philip Madramootoo and friend Nizam Ramkisson – both Directors of Constantine Engineering and Construction Limited of Trinidad and Tobago.
Only Hassan and the female co-conspirator appeared in court on Monday and arrest warrants have since been issued for the others who are said to currently be in Trinidad and Tobago
