A gym instructor who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to her chest was on Wednesday slapped with a wounding charge at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Darius Ramsammy, 23, of Castello Housing Scheme denied the allegation put to him by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
It is alleged that he used a knife to stab Donatta Bobb to her right side chest on June 16, 2018.
However, Ramsammy told the court that he was acting in self-defence as he was attacked by Bobb.
The Prosecution had no objections to bail being granted to the defendant as the case file in the matter is still incomplete.
As such, bail was granted in the sum of $50,000 and Ramsammy is expected to make his second appearance on July 18, 2018.
