[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) has launched an internal probe after news surfaced early Monday morning (March 3) that one of its engineers has been taken into police custody for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 15 – year – old girl in Lethem, Region Nine.
According to GWI’s Public Relations Officer Timothy Austin, the matter is being addressed by the police. He told iNews that at present the company could not confirm the validity of the reports but will make efforts to contact the employee whom he identified as a Georgetown resident that was stationed in Lethem.
Austin said too that the Company is prepared to cooperate with the police in any regard. Reports are that the teenager with whom the man had sex may also be pregnant.
