[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) has approached the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) for the release of lands, to meet housing needs across the country.
This was revealed by Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon, who pointed out that while there are many development achievements by the People’s Progressive Party/Civic administration over its years in office, none can touch its achievement in the housing development.
“Every day there are complaints: we have applied and we are waiting,” Dr Luncheon said.
Even with the One Stop Shops, he explained, there is a backlog “in no mean order and land is necessary for a developmental task, that is unquestionably benefitting Guyanese from all walks of life.”
With the efforts of the administration’s response to the housing drive, he explained that whilst GuySuco has available lands, this could be made available for the CH&PA. This would then enable it to discharge the housing drive and obligations, across the whole of Guyana, including the hinterland. [Extracted and modified from GINA]
