Finance Minister, Winston Jordan in his 2016 Budget presentation in the National Assembly this afternoon has announced that with effect from February 1, Guyanese will benefit from reduction in fuel prices at GuyOil Service Stations across the country.
“Conscious of the need to provide incentives to the manufacturing sector, in order for it to become competitive, and, as a further measure to boost incomes of households, it is proposed to increase the rebate granted by the Guyana Power and Light Company from 10 percent to 15 percent, with effect from April 1, 2016”, the minister said.
Hence, with effect from February 1, 2016 the prices of fuel sold by Guyana Oil Company (GUYOIL) will be reduced as follows:
