[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyexpo 2013, which opens on Thursday (October 3) at the Sophia Exhibition Site, promises to deliver an increase and new line up of exhibitors comprising of both local and international companies.
According to the Government Information Agency (GINA), Tourism Industry and Commerce Minister (ag) Irfaan Ali stated, “At this year’s Expo you’ll see many more exhibitors, we have approximately 410 boots, with 95% of those boots already been sold and more than 290 exhibitors”. With comparisons to 2012 where they were only 288 boots compared to 419 boots this year and 237 exhibitors”.
Minister Irfaan Ali further stated “this year we had some new exhibitors coming on board along with new cooperate sponsors all of whom we wish to thank”.
“Advancing Productivity through Innovation, Modernization and Expansion” is the theme under which GuyExpo 2013 is being held. This year’s event is being hosted by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Guyana’s Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA).
The GMSA 50th Anniversary coincides with Guyexpo 2013 and as such the focus for this event will be on manufacturing and manufactures. The organisation will utilize GuyExpo to serve as a platform to celebrate their accomplishments and achievements over the past 50 years.
There will be a special business forum in collaboration with the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA), which is set on working on GuyExpo 2013 and on the Business Forum which is specially designed.
GINA, which heard from several exhibitors and corporate sponsors reported that when it engaged corporate sponsor Ansa Macal, Public Relations Officer Ms. Darshanie Yusuf, she stated that GuyExpo is an event which individuals should not miss.
“If you want to get your products known and you wish to get it out there, this is the exact place to come”. GuyExpo being the biggest trade show in Guyana, it being a platform the company will not miss, which is why the company is committed to GuyExpo every year,” Ms. Yussuf added.
Meanwhile, Marketing Manager of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) Ms. Nicola Duggan mentioned, “Like always, persons can look forward to excellent deals”. Ms. Duggan further added that the company sees this as an opportunity to give back to persons, and an opportune time to do so.
The telephone company will be offering handsets for as low as $5000 along with other excellent deals.
Among this year’s international exhibitors are companies from Argentina, Brazil, China, Suriname, French Guiana, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, United States of America, United Kingdom, Barbados, St. Vincent and India among others.
Demerara Distillers Limited, Banks DIH, Ansa Macal ,GT&T, Digicel, E-Networks, Top Brandz, Buddys’, Impressions, Caribbean Export Development Agency, Stars Party Rental are among the sponsors that came on board for this event.
