[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyanese duo of Marmarlaque Davidson and Ron Fiedthkou returned home this weekend after securing silver medals in a Tobago tournament.
The Linden based duo competed in the tournament for the America FC which hails out of the Florida State.
The players managed to push their team all the way to the finals in which they lost 3-1 to team Trinidad coached by world renowned Brazilian Alexandre Soares.
The pair, which originated from the ‘Cool Runnins’ Beach Football Club, scored a total of 10 goals in the competition.
Davidson, who was piped for the golden by Trinidadian Machan Hislop finished the tournament with eight goals which includes a hamlet trick and a hatrick while Fiedthkou scored two.
Both players expressed their delight by the expeirence gained through the tournament with international teams and have committed to sharing the knowledge gained.
Beach football has been on the rise in the mining town of Linden with several clubs being formed and competitions held to foster growth.
