[www.inewsguyana.com] – With both Olympian Britany Van Lange and Hannibal Gaskin failing to move past the first round of their final events on Thursday, Guyana might return medal less.
Van Lange swam in the girl’s 50 metres Butterfly on Thursday and registered a time of 28.43s which was not good enough to move on.
Gaskin in the boy’s 100 metres Butterfly clocked 58.03s, finishing sixth in his heat while crashing out of his second event at the major championships.
Meanwhile it will now be left up Table Tennis star Chelsea Edghill who was unable to move past the group stages of the singles competition to possibly produce a medal.
Edghill will be a part of a mixed doubles team set to start next week while 400 metres specialist Jason Yaw is also set to contest the 400 metres ‘B’ final after crashing out of the ‘A’ final in the preliminary rounds.
