[www.inewsguyana.com] – On the first day of the Commonwealth games 2014 in Glasglow, Scotland where Guyana took part in various events, squash player and world number 19 Nicolette Fernandes advanced to the quarter finals round of the games.
Playing against Namweene Muchaile from Zambia, the Guyanese easily won in straight sets, 11-4, 11-3, 11-3 and would now play world number 2 Laura Massaro in the quarter finals.
In the other event which was the table tennis, the Guyanese team of Indi Lewis, Paul David and Chris Franklin found some amount of success against team Vanuatu but team Guyana failed to get pass North Ireland in their other match.
The Guyanese women team of Chelsea Edghill, Trenace Lowe and Natalie Cummings lost their game to Australia in straight games. When the games continue today, Guyana’s Imran Khan will step into the ring against Benson Njangiru of Kenya in the bantamweight division.
Results on the court, field, track are determined before the athletes ever set foot in their arena. If your not a winner you’re merely a participant. I love to know how many of Guyanas athletes actually do mental training exercises? Because if you don’t then you’re not competing fully trained. Your mind controls your body, not the other way around. If you’re not doing some form of mental training your training is quite simply incomplete. How do you know, by your results. If you’re serious about getting winning results get in touch with my free FB page: http://www.Maxim-Mentor.com or email me or message me here. Best of luck everyone.
