[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyana won all three of their games on Wednesday, December 03 to make a statement on the first day of the North American and Caribbean Rugby Association’s (NACRA) Championships being held in Mexico.
Guyana, after being absent for a year from the tournament due to financial problems in 2013, opened with a low scoring win against powerhouse Mexico that ended 19-7.
Guyana only grew in confidence as they took down the Cayman Islands by a margin of 38 to 12 at the end of the final whistle.
Their final game of the first round of action would see Guyana whipping St Vincent 47-nil in a totally dominating and scary effort.
Some of the scorers during the day for Guyana were debutants Patrick King and Isiejah Allen, Vice Captain Richard Staglon and Ronald Mayers.
Guyana now leads the Pool ‘C’ and will start the knockout stage as one of the top teams in the tournament which begins today, December 04.
