Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire which completely razed the living quarters attached to the Guyana Forestry Commission at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara on Monday morning.
Based on information received, the fire began at about 11:30h.
While details remain sketchy, INews understands that the fire was detected in the lower flat of the building and the Guyana Fire Service was immediately contacted.
However, though they arrived promptly from Timehri, the building’s wooden structure was completely gutted and reduced to rubble, upon their arrival.
There is presently no report of persons being injured.
