[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyana has surpassed its gold production target for 2013 reaching 452, 000 ounces from the 451,000 ounces which it had projected. This is according to Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Robert Persaud.
Minister Persaud made the revelation during the launch of the second phase of a gold mine by the Guyana Goldfields Inc on Wednesday, December 11 at the Guyana International Conference Center.
Gold maintained its reputation as the biggest producer in the mining sector for last year, with a production value in excess of $137B and accounting for 78.2 percent of total value of mining output.
