Brazil’s Minister of External Relations, Mauro Vieira was awarded with an Honorary Order of Roraima (OR) by President David Granger during an Investiture Ceremony held at the Ministry of the Presidency this morning.
President Granger while presenting the National Award to Vieira made reference to his contributions to Brazil’s foreign relations. He noted that Mount Roraima represents the point where the countries of Brazil and Guyana meet.
Meanwhile, Vieira in his remarks moments after being conferred with the National Award stated that Mount Roraima is also of great importance to the Brazilian citizens.
The Order of Roraima is Guyana’s second highest national award which is bestowed upon foreign citizens for their outstanding service to the nation.
