[www.inewsguyana.com] – Three gunmen invaded the Lot 140 Green Acres, Providence, East Bank Demerara [Buddy’s Housing Scheme] home of a family early yesterday evening [Sunday, September 21], tied up the family with duct tape and stole a quantity of household items.
No one was injured. The incident occurred at approximately 19:00hrs. iNews understands that Melanie Leung, her three children and other relatives who were visiting, were all tied up. Her husband is a gold miner and was not at home at the time.
iNews understands that the gunmen visited the family’s home in a White 212, pretending to be policemen, checking up on the neighbourhood. According to information received, they stopped in front of the family’s gate and inquired about someone, following which the family locked themselves inside.
However, one of Leung’s sons decided to open the back door to go into the yard when the men pounced on him.
Residents in the private community are scared have questioned the security within the community, since it is supposed to be a gated one. Some residents told iNews that this is the fifth robbery in the area in recent times.
HMM! IT IS PUZZLING THAT THESE PEOPLE CAN SO EASILY IMPERSONATE POLICE, THIS IS HAPPENING TOO OFTEN. MAKES ONE WONDER IF IT IS IMPERSONATORS OR THE REAL COPS??????
