[www.inewsguyana.com] – Ranks from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Georgetown took two men in custody on Friday, February 06 after they were found to be in possession of firearms and ammunition.
Arrested are 35 – year – old Deon Coats of Fifth Avenue Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara and Ronald Singh, 45 of Goedverwagting, East Cost Demerara
The Police found a .45 pistol and seven matching rounds stashed in Coats living room while a .38 revolver with three matching rounds were found in Singh’s house.
iNews was informed that the men are known characters and were of interest to the police for some time now.
In addition, the ranks were also able to arrest Jamal Harlequin of Lodge Housing Scheme who escaped from police custody at the Leonora Police Station last year.
Ten other persons were also arrested and are in custody after the police carried out raids in several hot spots in Regions 3 and 4. They were arrested in connection with possession of narcotics and robbery under arms.
